ABOUT ME
Chicago native, Monica Handy is the creator of COOTW E Magazine, a playwright, blogger and an author.
In 2014 Monica Handy was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred literature and began to be interviewed by publications such as:
*Wellness of Eden Magazine (as one of five women who inspire other women)
*Brandnewz, (by Imani Person)
* Evangelist Darryl Gilliam of The Major Change Network and Foundation.
* and Carol Ann Kauffman of Vision and Verse
In 2012, Monica asked Dr. Joseph B. Howard Sr. for permission to establish his award winning novel, "Battered Clergy From Victim To Victor", as a stage-play. The results, under director, Alvin Malcolm Daniels were a sold out venue when the play debuted in Chicago, June, of 2015.
Her most recent title, "Chronicles of a Well Woman~The Bliss Fix 1," released May 9, 2018 is a short, inspirational book about achieving self-worth and confidence through Christ. "Calvin Spears," released May 4, 2018, is a romantic-thriller that takes readers into the continental cartels of gun running as seen through the eyes of a man who wants to be free to live, and to love “It Always Starts With Sex,” is an erotic-romance that gives audience to a black, sensual love affair. “The Meanderings Of Ruby Stewart,” is a humorous, rise-to the-top story that depicts the life of office clerk, Ruby Stewart. And finally, the sequel, AND THE MIRROR CRACKED (and, HOW TO KILL A LIE), released in July 2015 , is receiving five star/critical reviews.
Books by Monica Handy can also be found in Chicago’s South Shore Public Library Branch, and The Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library in Glenwood Illinois. Copies are also available in Minneapolis’ (Hennepin County) Public Libraries.
To date, Dr. Handy has four grown children, two grandchildren, two daughters in law and is working on her next novel, “Chronicles of a Well Woman~The Bliss Fix 2.”
